What's BETASex mean?
It's a play on words -- in the gaming industry (and any tech/service industry, really), there's a round of quality assurance (QA) known as BETA testing. Basically, it's a way for the hard-working, kickass QA folks to get feedback from a diverse group of people testing out a live, nearly finished version of their game/product/service. In a sense, when I get a toy I'm testing it out. So I combined BETA with Sex instead of test and thus BETASex was born. I was going to name it Epic Mount Inventory but it didn't quite have the same ring to it. ;)
So, why a blog from a geek's perspective?
All of my life I was told that geeks and nerds were doomed to be 40 year old virgins and that the only way to be attractive was to be someone who I am not. I want to show nerds like me that those folks are and always were WRONG. That being in touch with your sexuality regardless of "social stereotype" is a natural, healthy and normal thing. And I think a little part of me would like to show that nerds (especially girls) can enjoy sex and be pumped about updates on Joss Whedon's latest project or finally looting that rare item in a dungeon they've been running for weeks straight.
If I can help people make educating choices on toys or other products, or improve just one person's life by enriching their sexual wisdom, I've accomplished all I want from this blog.
Who are you?
I'm a 24 year old girl who loves comics, tabletop games and video games. In my spare time I play a lot of video games. Sometimes I draw, and write stuff (coughfanfictioncough). More on me at another time.
